What seems like a while ago now, we were approached for an interview with Our Generation, the National Seniors Association’s quarterly magazine. If you are a member, you already know this. The magazine’s Autumn edition came out while we were on an outback adventure. As a result, some lucky National Seniors’ members will win copies of our CDs. This coincided with the trio’s set at Brisbane’s premier acoustic music club, The Bug, on April 7. This performance was unique for us, in that Laurel’s brother Jon was visiting from Canada, and other family members came too. The photo of us singing was taken from a video by David Bowers.
Dave De Santi, who curates musical performances at the Bug venue (New Farm Bowls Club), sets a good balance between the two main acts at this weekly music club. We were followed by Zenekar, an accomplished four-piece band performing original compositions. They say their music is inspired by global music styles, the energy of jazz improvisation and contemporary art music. Glad we stayed to the end. They were excellent!
